Quality or Quantity: What's More Important for Content?

What is more important for making an impact online: quality or quantity of content?

Online involvement is becoming more important each day. And not just posting comments, but writing original content as well.

The use of content marketing has allowed us to take advantage of our social media platforms. In some pretty awesome and appealing ways, we can promote ourselves and our business. How does the content make the biggest impact, then?

What is more important for making an impact online: quality or quantity of content?

Let's dive in.

Perfection's Perils

We are all little perfectionists as creatives. Why wouldn’t we? Our job is to impress our clients with our work, and to continuously improve our abilities. The desire to create perfect content is only natural.

To make sure that our posts for Instagram are as perfect as they can be, we refine...and refine... and refine. However, we waste half a day on one post. In the pursuit of perfection, you may slow down.

No matter what you deem perfect, it is not your call. Ultimately, your audience will decide what you post. It is up to them to decide if your posting is good or not.

Put Tradition to the Side

Traditionally, you would be told that what matters is the quality of your work. Let's put that aside for a moment.

Think of your productivity being cut in half because you make these "perfect posts" to Instagram. It seems worthwhile to spend time on it, doesn't it?

Consider shortening the time it takes to create a post by trimming it from six hours to two or even one hour. You can laser-focus on what you want to publish, leading to a more productive workflow.

Don't stress about what happens next, just get the content out there. No matter what you post, the quality will always shine through.

Making More Means Learning More

While you can certainly gain from sharing more, we didn't say to earn. Sure, you can reel in prospects through social media, but let's consider how you can gain from sharing more.

If you experiment, make a few mistakes, and then try again, you will learn. Being consistent is key.

As you repeat something, it becomes more imprinted in your brain.

You'll engage the audience once you post more often. By interacting, building connections, and eventually forming a community, you will establish a solid foundation for your business.

Observations

We believe that quality content breeds success when we post content online. Yet, when we get down to it, what matters most is quantity.

Make sure you are putting as much content out there as possible. Engage your audience in conversation to find out what they consider good. You’ll make more connections, learn new tricks, and gain some fresh, new ideas while exploring.
